BannerPod Flash Banner


What is it?
Flash is an advanced animation program and is probably the most powerful online graphics format available. It’s a unique in the fact its components can be updated anywhere at any time.


Key Features:
Flash is a sophisticated animation program with high compression capabilities that allow for greater creativity, the resulting banners appear like mini movies and deliver a strong branding message to the Consumer Download quickly and look the same across all browsers that have a Flash Player installed (software that plays Flash files).
A back-up GIF is automatically served to users who don’t have the Flash Player (can be downloaded free from www.macromedia.com). However, over 95% of users already have a version of Flash Player installed.
A BannerPod banner is updatable by you reducing the cost of producing banner

 

Key Benefits:
Flash banners have higher response rates and greater branding impact than GIF banners. The animation is far superior to Animated GIF and allows for a rich visual experience. Can add interactivity to the banners ie. multiple links to various sections on the Customer’s site.
BannerPod banners allow you to control the content easily and cheaply through the unique BannerPod administration interface.

 

Limitations:
Flash has fantastic creative capabilities, however there are still limitations when it comes to photos. It’s best to limit the number to 3-4 to ensure their clarity after publishing.

 

Animated GIF Banner


What is it?
An Animated GIF gives the appearance of movement by rotating through a series of static images or “frames”.


Key Features:
The easiest way to create and view a simple animation, recognised by all browsers on the market.


Key Benefits:
Cheaper alternative to Flash because of it’s relatively simple production process
Download quickly because of their small file size and Consumers only need an Internet browser to view Animated GIFs.


Limitations:
GIF wasn’t designed for photos and can become pixilated (blurry/dull) during the compression process, it’s best to keep photos to a minimum or avoid them altogether.

 

Static GIF Banner
A ‘Static Banner’ is a single fixed image saved as a GIF, draws significantly less attention than animated banners.
realestate.com.au no longer supports static banners.

 

HTML Banner
HTML banners use standard image/Internet technology. These banners are often poorly coded and can interfere with site
functionality. realestate.com.au does not support HTML banners.
